Its list prices and near-permanent discounts against them move often enough that any figure printed here would likely be wrong within weeks — a sale is running more often than not, so check the actual price on the course page the day you plan to buy. The structural point that does hold: you are paying per course, once, rather than for ongoing access.
Codecademy runs two paid tiers on top of a free one. Plus lists at $14.99 a month billed annually, or $29.99 billed month to month, and covers the course catalogue and most Skill Paths. Pro lists at $19.99 a month billed annually, or $39.99 billed month to month, and adds Career Paths, human code review on projects, interview preparation and verified professional certifications. The practical consequence: if you want exactly one specific skill and nothing else, Udemy’s per-course model means you are not paying monthly for material you are no longer using once you have learned it. If you expect to work through several languages or Skill Paths over months, Codecademy’s flat subscription can work out cheaper than buying several individual Udemy courses on a topic that keeps evolving — the trade depends on how narrow your actual need is and how long you expect to keep learning.
Certificates — neither is accreditation
Udemy issues a certificate of completion for finished courses.
